Dave is a member of Bethel Community Church, a volunteer for Junior Achievement and Pasco High School's Enterprise Week for graduating seniors, and an Ambassador for the Tri Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Dave is also active in the Boy Scouts of America having served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 300, Edmonds, WA. He enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, backpacking, hunting and fishing.

A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dave lived in the Seattle area from 1984 to 2008. He now resides in Kennewick, WA with his wife, Sarah, and six of their ten children.
